Weekly Update: Richland Airport (RLD) Electrical Replacement Project – Week of November 7, 2022

Construction Schedule for the Week of November 7, 2022

There will be no further runway closures for the Richland Airport Electrical Replacement Project!
Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation throughout the project.

The lights are on and functioning for both runways and taxiways. During the week of November 7, crews will be cleaning up and finishing minor tasks, which will be outside the runway and will not impact aircraft operations.

Delivery of the PAPIs for 01, 08 and 19 has been delayed until March 2023. Unfortunately, the airport will be without PAPIs until they are delivered and installed. The VASIs on Runway 26 will continue to be on and the MALS on the end of Runway 19 have been on since November 4.

Additionally, delivery of the emergency generator is delayed until June 2023. Upon installation of the generator, runway lights will function during power outages.

Thank you again for your continued patience throughout this project.  Enjoy the new lights!
