Cassie Hammond Joins Port of Benton

RICHLAND, Wash. – Cassie Hammond joined Port of Benton this week as the Director of Governmental Affairs.

Hammond, a seasoned government affairs professional, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role with the port. With a career rooted in political science, campaign management and advocacy, Hammond has established herself as a dedicated and results-driven leader with an innate ability to build stakeholder relationships.

Originally from Frankfort, Kentucky, Hammond obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Homeland Security from Eastern Kentucky University. Upon graduation, Hammond transitioned into managing various statewide and local campaigns around the country.

“Cassie’s strategic approach and effective leadership skills will benefit the Port of Benton as we provide input on port and economic development policies to support the growth of our assets and positively impact the community,” said Diahann Howard, port executive director.

Hammond recently served as manager of the government affairs department at the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, D.C. In this role, Hammond navigated the complex intersection of policy and advocacy, representing the interests of the housing industry at the national level while growing the political action arm, BUILD-PAC.
