Bunge Acquires Central Washington Corn Processors, Inc. in Richland

November 3, 2026

RICHLAND, Wash. – Bunge recently announced it closed its acquisition of Central Washington Corn Processors, Inc. (CWCP), a regional provider of feed processing and bulk commodity services at the Port of Benton property in north Richland.

Established in 2002, CWCP operates 45,000 tons of covered storage capacity and 2.1 million bushels of grain storage. The company serves both Class I railroads operating in the region, BNSF and Union Pacific.

CWCP has operated at the site for many years, first as a tenant of the City of Richland and, after the Port of Benton acquired the property in January 2025, as a Port tenant.

Bunge is a global agribusiness company specializing in grain origination, storage and distribution, as well as oilseed processing and refining. The company identified the Richland location as strategically positioned to enhance service, improve efficiency and create new opportunities throughout the Northwest.

“Bunge’s investment in this facility speaks to the strategic advantages Richland offers for agriculture, rail and distribution,” said Port Interim Executive Director Ron Branine. “We’re excited to welcome Bunge to the Port and look forward to supporting its continued growth and investment in our region.”

The acquisition marks a new chapter in agricultural processing, storage and distribution in the region, which has supported these operations for more than two decades. The Port looks forward to building a strong relationship with Bunge and continuing to support economic development and investment in north Richland.

The Port of Benton also recognizes Central Washington Corn Processors for their longstanding presence and investment in the community and appreciates the relationship developed with the company over the years.
