The Port of Benton is hosting a dedication ceremony at the USS Triton Sail Park to honor and remember Commissioner Robert D. Larson.
Commissioner Larson passed away in December after nearly three decades of dedicated service to the Port of Benton and the community.
Throughout his tenure, Bob exemplified extraordinary leadership, commitment, and vision, leaving a legacy that continues to shape the Port and the region.
Among the many transformative projects he championed, none was closer to his heart than securing the USS Triton sail and conning tower and bringing it to North Richland. The USS Triton Sail Park stands as a lasting reflection of Bob’s determination, pride in public service and deep belief in preserving meaningful history for future generations.
The Port of Benton has worked closely with Bob’s family to plan this dedication in a way that thoughtfully reflects his life, his service and the legacy he so deeply cared about. This gathering will provide an opportunity to remember Bob, reflect on the impact he had on so many—both professionally and personally—and formally dedicate the Sail Park in his honor.
