Port of Benton Commissioner District 2 Vacancy Application Open

Applications for Vacancy Due November 19, 2021

Richland, WA (November 8, 2021) ­— On Wednesday, October 28, 2021 Commissioner Robert Larson announced his retirement from the Port of Benton Commission where he served in District 2. Revised Code of Washington Chapter 42.12 sets forth the appointment process for filling vacancies of nonpartisan elected offices.

Applications and complete application details are available now online on the Port’s website or in-person during walk-in hours (Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.). Please visit the following link for immediate access to the application materials:

The following schedule applies to the vacancy and application process:

  • Monday, November 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Applications posted on the Port of Benton Website and available in the Port’s offices
  • Friday, November 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. Deadline to submit application for vacancy
  • Monday, November 22, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Special Commission Meeting to review applications and announce finalists for interview
  • Monday, November 29, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. Final Interviews held at special commission meeting and announcement of appointment of District 2 Commissioner
